The internship can be done outside Tuscany (some partners of the master are not based in Tuscany for example). However, the company or institution where the internship takes place must have to do with topics in line with the master's degree.
We already have agreements with companies that are partners of the master. Of course, for internships, interviews are still held by the companies with the candidates. It is not necessary to do an internship with a partner company. A student is allowed also to do the internship with other organizations.
To date, the university no longer allows internships to be done online. The internships now have to be done on-site.
It depends. We have to evaluate each specific case.
An internship at another company for those who already work cannot be done in Italy according to the law. Indeed, the internship contract is not compatible with another employment contract. In this case, we usually opt for research activity at the University of Florence or IMT.
The University of Florence joined the initiative. We are awaiting the signing of the new agreement with the Department of Public Administration. More information will be provided shortly. We recommend that you inquire with the offices in charge of this agreement.
According to Law 33/2022 (https://www.gazzettaufficiale.it/eli/id/2022/04/28/22G00041/sg) which entered into force on 13 May u.s. and subsequent implementing decrees, "simultaneous enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree course and a master's, research doctorate or specialization course is permitted, except for medical specialization courses, as well as simultaneous enrollment in a Ph.D. or Masters course and a medical specialization course ". At the moment, reading this provision, it does not seem to allow simultaneous enrolment in a doctorate and a post-graduate 2nd-level vocation master. Therefore, in the absence of new provisions, simultaneous enrolment is not allowed.
Yes, there is compatibility unless the incompatibility is explicitly stated in the research fellowship contract.
The master’s lectures are after 4 pm 3 days a week and on Saturday mornings. Also in our last editions of the Master, most of our students were workers. Attendance is compulsory at 75% and the rule does not bend for working students. Very often, our working students in the past had made arrangements with their companies to be able to attend the Master's. Lessons are from February to early July and then September and October.
The list of the various professors who are part of the master's and will deliver lectures is already available on our website https://www.md2sl.unifi.it/vp-6-corpo-docenti.html
Various tools are used. The Master's also includes an introductory R and Python course. Some teachers use Matlab and STATA.
All material is provided on our e-learning platform.
Like the lessons, exams can also be attended remotely.
For questions on the topics, we recommend consulting the syllabus here https://www.md2sl.unifi.it/vp-7-insegnamenti.html
You can find all the information on the structure of the Master on our website at this link https://www.md2sl.unifi.it/vp-25-teaching-program.html. Each module includes an exam. The exams do not have to be done all at the same time, the students must pass all the modules by the end of the year. The modules are 2 or 3 ECTS each.
The structure of the exams is decided by each professor. There are various types of exams: classic exams, exercises (delivered during the course), projects, etc.
The final paper counts 3 ECTS, namely 75 hours of work. It should be possibly linked to the internship or research or work in place of the internship. Normally it encompasses an application of the methods and theory studied during the master's. The student chooses a tutor among the professors of the master who helps the student with the final paper.
